Art Memory and Healing
This video presents the panel discussion that followed the Maryland premiere of our 30-minute documentary on the life and fabric art of Holocaust survivor Esther Krinitz. The event took place in the Cultural Arts Center - Montgomery College TPSS Campus in Silver Spring, MD on March 29, 2012.
The discussion focused on art as a means to heal from trauma, and to document/combat injustice. It featured Faye Moskowitz, noted memoirist and professor of literature at GWU; Rachel Cohen, a a clinical psychologist who has worked with refugee trauma victims; Myrna Goldenberg, Holocaust scholar and founding director of the Paul Peck Humanities Institute; and Bernice Steinhardt, Esther Krinitz’s daughter
