Biography


Helene McQuade, Vice President

Helene McQuade, the younger of Esther Nisenthal Krinitz's two daughters, was born in Brooklyn, New York, where her parents emigrated after World War II. Encouraged by her mother to draw, paint and play the flute as a child, Helene developed a lasting love for art and music. A graduate of the City College of New York with a bachelor's degree in Art History, her early career was in the arts and publishing. During the 1970s and 1980s, she was assistant to artist Dan Flavin. Now residing with her husband and son in the Hudson Valley of New York, Helene is Administrator for Research & Grants Management for the Foundation for Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie and the NDH Foundation of Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. Placing great value in the importance of community service, Helene volunteers her time as a trustee of the Pine Plains Free Library. She previously served as President the Pine Plains School District Board of Education, and as a member of the Pine Plains Zoning Commission.
